10 Make A Move
If you're just promoting
your own agenda,
without offering anything the other person considers useful,
then any moves you make will ultimately fail.
However, if you think you've understood another person's needs correctly,
then your signals and theirs should cross
eventually,
and making a move should ultimately work.
If it doesn't, try try again
but make sure they understand your intentions.
You really do need to be explicit.
Say what you mean
and mean what you say.
Asking someone to consider embarking on a serious relationship with you
is worlds away from asking someone to sleep with you,
as is presuming you can hug someone intimately without first asking their permission.
Such presumptuous moves are inconsiderate, won't get you seriously considered,
and will make most sane people reject you.
If all you want is to play, say so, and be ready to pay for it.
If you're serious, say so, and share the risk of rejection.
Anything else, and you're cheating.
